this wasn’t for me i guess。 my biggest issue was def the kid who’s supposed to be the main plot and even when he’s in these scenes he’s still completely sidelined throughout the book。 i went into this wanting angst and cute dad and son scenes with drew and graham and instead i got scenes of the two mains hanging out in one chapter—without the kid btw—and then the next three chapters reading these characters telling their friends about them hanging out, discussing their problems or their feelings this wasn’t for me i guess。 my biggest issue was def the kid who’s supposed to be the main plot and even when he’s in these scenes he’s still completely sidelined throughout the book。 i went into this wanting angst and cute dad and son scenes with drew and graham and instead i got scenes of the two mains hanging out in one chapter—without the kid btw—and then the next three chapters reading these characters telling their friends about them hanging out, discussing their problems or their feelings we’ve already heard before。 rinse and repeat。 should’ve realised this after reading this guy have literally no reaction to learning he’s a dad。 and the kid still doesn’t know drew is his father 70% into the book and spent next to no time with him, why? cause the two mains are too caught up in each other to get around to it。 and as for audrey and drew together? i’m boreeeedd。 graham’s apparently the number one priority to his parents but he’s always at his uncles house and out of sight lol。 maybe it’s my maternal instincts talking but don’t bother adding a child to the book if you’re not going to include him the way a child should be included 😭 。。。more

I love how strong and independent Audrey is。 She doesn’t need a man and stands on her own while being the best mother to her son。 Drew fully understands that Audrey is independent but he wants to be there to help take the load off。 He instantly stepped into dad mode as soon as he found out he was a father。 There was no freak out moment just instantly wanting to be in his son’s life。 I highly recommend this book!𝙍𝙚𝙖𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙛 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚:* Single Mom* Secret Baby* He Falls First* Hockey Romance* Second Chance* Strong Female * Golden Retriever MMC 。。。more

Just lovely。What a beautiful romantic story。 Very nicely written and loved the characters。 I was waiting for the proverbial shoe to drop where things would go south, but it was just surprising to see it have just a small glitch and then the story works out。 An uplifting story。 And, yes, there are some ‘racy’ scenes as well。 Recommend。

Rating 4。5⭐️Spice 3🌶I enjoyed reading this book。 I found myself loving a trope that I don't normally read。 Although I don't think you can count a 5 year old as a surprise baby, so maybe a surprise child? Either way, I found myself cheering for Drew the MMC。 This book wasted no time in jumping right in。 Drew was traded to his hometown, Boston's NHL team。 He wants to make a great first impression with his new team because his last team and him got off to a bad start。 For reasons that weren't Drew's fault, but his last team captain never saw it that way。 He wants to stay in Boston because he needs to help take care of his mother。 So when he is at his agents house for a cookout to meet the team, he runs into his old college calculus tutor Audrey。 Trying to figure out why she's freaking out and trying to run away, he stops her to see what's wrong。 What he wasn't ready for was the fact that Audrey is a mom, too, a 5 year old little boy named Graham。 He didn't need calculus to do that kind of math。 Especially since Graham looks just like him。 Audrey has been a single mother since the moment she found out about being pregnant。 Even though she tried calling Drew about 20 times to tell him。 He never called her back。 So her and her siblings raised Graham。 Only her sister Jules knew who Graham's father was but kept that secret。 Now that Drew knew about Graham, he wanted to be part of his life。 Audrey, though, had her own worries。 She didn't want him to hurt Graham or come into his life just to walk back or。 All the worries that any good mom should have。 Only at times did it seem more like she didn't want to get hurt。 Drew keeps trying to show up for Audrey and Graham。 Agreeing to whatever Audrey will allow him to do。 No matter how much Drew tries, Audrey seems to push him away。 I got Audrey's fears, but it seemed that every time her attraction for Drew would come on, then she'd push him away。 Blaming him for either not being a parent or him wanting her instead of their son。 Drew is determined to have them both, though。 Her friends see this, and so do her siblings。 Audrey doesn't trust men except for her brother。 Every man in her life has always left。 Drew is determined to break through these walls and be the man Audrey needs and the father Graham needs。 I really liked this book, I just didn't like how Audrey tried to keep pushing him away。 Their chemistry was on fire, and the spice was hot。 She just didn't want Graham to know about his father, even though everyone else in Graham's life knew。 She only thought the time was right to tell her son when she herself was in the relationship with him, and everyone else kept telling her to stop hiding it from him。 Audrey had worked hard to get where she was in life。 She had a family that helped her out more than than they helped themselves, especially Jules, her sister。 They let Audrey go take dance classes and have free time when they themselves didn't get that luxury。 Jules worked almost 24/7 and then watched Graham so Audrey could go do things。 They all could see that Audrey was the one messing up and told her。 I liked her family and can't wait to see if Jules is going to have a book next。 I received this as an Advance Readers Copy and would recommend this book。 This is my honest and fair opinion。 Tropes:- Hockey Romance - Surprise Child- Second Chance- Golden Retriever- He Falls First/Hard 。。。more

I absolutely love Julia Connors。 And since I’m a sucker for the secret baby trope, I was salivating for this one!Audrey was Drew’s tutor back in college。 They hooked up and ended up going their separate ways。 When they find themselves back in the same city again, he finds out that she has a son…that looks just like him。 I don’t want to spoil anything, but I will say Drew is sweet, swoony, sexy…and the mouth on this man?!
